In this context, Adrien is advising the European Commission, being part of the management team of the EU4Algae programme. Adrien is also a senior advisor to the Global Seaweed Coalition, hosted by the UN Global Compact.

He also works with the French national research centre CNRS on their International Panel for Ocean Sustainability (IPOS) program. Finally, Adrien regularly advises ocean investment funds and start-ups on their impact journey towards a healthy ocean.

Adrien launched in 2020 the Seaweed for Europe coalition, which gathered 150+ organisations working jointly to accelerate the scale up of a sustainable seaweed industry in Europe. This coalition has now been integrated into the European Commission’s EU4Algae platform, in which Adrien is involved.

Organization info:

The EU4Algae platform was launched by the European Commission in 2022 to help scale up a regenerative, resilient, fair and climate friendly algae industry in Europe, as well as bring more novel algae species to the market.

The platform is a unique space for collaboration among European algae stakeholders, including algae farmers, producers, sellers, consumers, technology developers as well as business-support organisations, investors, public authorities, academia, researchers and NGOs. It also acts as a single information hub on algae funding calls, projects, business-related information, intelligence and best practices.
