About the speaker: 

Angela Schultz-Zehden (MBA, MSc European Studies, BSc Econ) is manager-owner of s.Pro - sustainable-projects GmbH and CEO of the SUBMARINER network for Blue Growth EEIG. For more than 20 years she has been a leading expert in the Integrated Maritime Policy acting as strategic advisor to national and transnational institutions. Among others she has authored the DG MARE study on Blue Growth for the Baltic Sea Region; numerous guidelines on Maritime Spatial Planning, the SUBMARINER Compendium and the SUBMARINER Roadmaps 2013/2021. She currently leads the official study for the German government on how to introduce ‘Multi-Use Solutions with Offshore Wind in the renewal of the German MSP’ and the development of the EU4Algae industry roadmap. 

Acting as the CEO of the “SUBMARINER Network for Blue Growth EEIG” for the past ten years, she has brought together more than 50 connected blue projects with a budget of more than 200 million EUR. Since 2023 she coordinates and supports the implementation of the EU Mission ‘Ocean and Waters’ in the Baltic and North Sea Lighthouse area; which aims to accelerate the development towards a carbon-neutral and circular blue economy, including numerous initiatives, which promote algae cultivation and product development in Europe (e.g. AlgaeProBANOS, SeaMark, Cool Blue).
