About the speaker:
Aurora holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Since 2021, she has been employed in SINTEF Ocean, working on projects for seaweed cultivation, including seaweed nurseries and deployment operations. Aurora is currently responsible for the onshore facilities in the research infrastructure “Norwegian Seaweed Centre”.

Presentation:
The Norwegian Seaweed Centre is a national dedicated research infrastructure that promotes research and facilitates the development of new technologies for industrial cultivation and use of kelp. An automated nursery has been established as part of the research infrastructure. The presentation will focus on results from identifying space efficient solutions, standardization and automation of the tasks associated to the land-based operations.
