About the speaker: 

Eef Brouwers has almost twenty years of experience in project development, management and execution of which almost 10 years in offshore wind. Eef co-founded North Sea Farmers (NSF) in 2014 and has been working there as full-time manager since 2016 and as general manager as of 2022. Eef has been involved in a wide range of seaweed project ranging from cultivation, processing and market development. Furthermore, he developed the North Sea Farm#1 project, the first seaweed farm within an offshore wind farm and the NSF Offshore Test Site, the largest offshore test site in Europe.

North Sea Farm is the European Seaweed Association. It’s mission is to represent the interests of the European seaweed industry on a non-profit basis with the ambition to build an attractive  seaweed industry within sustainable boundary conditions. NSF’s main activities are: 

•    Represent the interests of European Seaweed Industry towards the European Commission, national and local politicy makers

•    Providing information to members, market parties, policy makers and society

•    Initiate high risk projects as evidence and learnings for the sector

•    Identify and establish attractive collaborations between members (network)
