During that time, he has been involved in or managed several high-profile projects including SeaMark, EU4lgae, CoolBlue and CoolBlueBaltic. His special interest is in the democratisation of aquaculture and redistribution of value through community-led local development and regenerative approaches to ecology, society and business. Presentation:

In an individualistic society with an economic system focused on competition and economies of scale, the power of collaboration is increasingly underestimated or overlooked. Taking inspiration from various sectors at different scales, this presentation will attempt to show how European seaweed producers and processors – instead of working in competition with one another – can join forces to achieve critical (bio)mass for a successful European seaweed industry.
