Presentation:

  • Regulatory De-risking: It emphasizes that the Environmental Impact Assessment Procedure (PEIA) and the LGEEPA (specifically Articles 28 and 30) are strategic planning tools rather than bureaucratic hurdles. They are necessary for the adequate development of the Project.

  • Circular Economy Integration: The pitch proposes a transition toward the General Circular Economy Law and the General Law for the Prevention and Comprehensive Management of Waste (LGPGIR), treating sargassum as a raw material for biofuels, in accordance to provisions set forth in the recently pubclished Biofuels Law in Mexico.

  • Strategic Due Diligence: It identifies pre-feasibility as the critical phase, involving background checks on land tenure, environmental surveying under Marine Ecological Planning Programs and  other ennvironmental and social regulations.

  • Value Proposition: Finally, it positions Bustamante + Freyre as the essential specialized consultancy to navigate this complex intersection of environmental science and Mexican federal law.
