Presentation:

This white paper was prepared in response to the priorities and aspirations identified during an October 2025 convening of industry, research, and government stakeholders in Washington, DC, organized by The Nature Conservancy, the World Bank, and Hatch Blue. The roundtable aimed to strengthen knowledge exchange around the opportunities and challenges involved in building a robust global seaweed biostimulant industry, while also identifying priority areas for intervention. The paper provides an overview of the potential benefits of seaweed biostimulants for agriculture, plant health, soil resilience, and regional economic development. It is intended to equip farmers, researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders with a clearer understanding of the market opportunity and a practical roadmap for integrating seaweed biostimulants into more sustainable agricultural systems.
