With a strong academic background and 30 years of experience in academic and applied research on seaweed and algae in agriculture and biotechnology, over 50 peer reviewed articles and 8 patents, all dedicated to advancing the field of algae research and focusing on valorization and the extraction and identification of active molecules. Corresponding member of the French Academy of Agriculture and steering board member of EABA.

This presentation draws on 30 years of seaweed research and valorization, conducted across multiple continents and spanning both academic and industrial sectors. It explores the opportunities and challenges inherent to seaweed processing throughout the entire value chain: from harvesting, through factory operations, to final applications (animal, plant, and human uses). The core objective is to highlight the critical factors necessary to ensure long-term industrial viability of seaweed-based products, while emphasizing the essential role of scientific collaborations in developing high-performance commercial solutions for agriculture and livestock.
