About the speaker: 

Trond Helgerud is Principal scientist and Seaweed R&D Leader at the IFF Nourish Division. Graduated from University of Oslo, 1984. After some years in refinery catalyst contract research joined Pronova Biopolymer AS as lab manager. Since then, been working with brown and red seaweeds and seaweed derived biopolymers in positions involving product and process development, business development, customer support, and seaweed management under FMC BioPolymer AS, DuPont Nutrition and Health, and now IFF. Managing Director of DuPont Nutrition Norge AS.

DuPont Nutrition Norge AS is part of IFF. We are producing alginates for a wide range of applications like food, pharma and biomedical. Norwegian operations include harvesting brown seaweeds in Norway under best seaweed management practices. IFF is a US based corporation with four divisions; Health & Bioscience, Nourish, Pharma Solutions, and Scent.
